Amazon Launches Alexa Diabetes Challenge For Deveopers
Amazon has launched a multi-stage contest for developers called the Alexa Diabetes Challenge. Alexa, the persona usually accessed through the Echo and Echo Dot interfaces, is the pleasant-voiced artificial intelligence and personal assistant, is at the heart of this challenge. The goal is to have innovators compete in developing solutions for diabetics.
The winner of the contest will win $125,000 for continued product development.
A webinar for applicants will take place on April 19.
Five finalists will be chosen from the pitches given to the Amazon panel, each moving to the next stage of the competition. Finalists will receive $25,000 and 10,000 Amazon Web Services (cloud computing) credits for continued development. Amazon will also host an Innovator's Boot Camp for the finalists in order to accelerate their understanding of Alexa.
Demonstrations of finalized prototypes of products for the contest will happen in September. A winner will be announced then and awarded the grand prize.
Luminary Labs is operating the contest for Amazon. More information can be found at the source link below.
