Chocolate Chip Cookies Recipe

Serves 60

Ingredients

  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, softened
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar or substitute
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • Dash of salt
  • 1 8 - ounce container plain non-fat yogurt
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups semisweet chocolate pieces

Preparation

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  2. Place oats in a shallow baking pan. Bake in for about 10 minutes or until toasted. Stir once in the middle of baking. Place oats in a food processor bowl or blender container. Cover and process or blend until ground, then set aside.
  3. In a large mixing bowl beat the butter with an electric mixer on medium to high speed for about 30 seconds. Add the brown sugar, baking soda, and salt, then beat until contents are combined. Beat in the yogurt, eggs, and vanilla until thoroughly combined. Slowly begin to beat in flour as much as you can while stirring with the mixer. Using a wooden spoon, stir in the oats and any remaining flour. Add the chocolate pieces and stir well.
  4. Use a spoon to drop dough in small balls, 2 inches apart, on an un-greased cookie sheet. Bake for 9 to 11 minutes or until desired consistency. Transfer to a wire rack to cool.
